BHAVANI ISLAND

Bhavani Island, which lies on the Krishna River, is located 4 km upstream from the city of Vijayawada. Extensive in an area of 538231.904 square meters, this island is one of the largest islands of the river. Ideal for picnics, this island has boating facilities, mangroves and manicured gardens. 

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation plans to develop more water and wetland activities on Bhavani Island. As this island is easily accessible from the city of Vijayawada, it is frequented by tourists especially on weekends.
